Unbelievable for each of us was staying at home isolated for almost three full months. Away from the daily routine, ordinary friends and frequent meetings.

“Oh, no! Did I oversleep?” Same thought every morning, after you realize you’re getting a suspiciously large amount of sleep. I check the time. It turns out I’m not late at all. I have three and a half minutes before the lecture starts, and that’s totally enough to brush my teeth and... well, nothing else.

Since the advancement of technology and medicine, we have completely forgotten how infectious diseases took a large number of lives in the last century, which is why this situation is so unexpected and confusing. A number of restrictive measures, including work from home, online classes, and a ban on gatherings have disrupted our daily lives. People are known for their social nature, which is why this situation was extremely difficult for a large number of them.

Restriction of movement, formation of quarantine, introduction of measures of social distance, closing of schools, universities ... All this marked the beginning of the epidemic of the Corona Virus in my country. The truth is that some of us are at higher risk of infection. Here I would primarily list medical workers, then people with pre-existing diseases and the elderly.

We are only halfway into this year, and so much stuff has happened, that it feels like 2020 New Years Eve was a lifetime ago. As we know corona virus has changed the lives of all people and significantly affected our daily activities.
Mixed feelings such as fear, uncertainty, panic and confusion about this situation have created many questions in my head, but from the very beginning, I believe firmly in one thing, the best we can do for ourselves and the community is to follow the prescribed measures. In this situation, many issues have been raised, from the violation of human rights and reducing the right to privacy on the one hand, and the importance of compliance with the recommended measures on the other hand.

I returned home a month ago. I was in Mostar doing an internship. I got back just before the border was closed. It was March 15; a state of emergency was introduced that day. Although I didn't receive any information, written or oral, of how I should behave, I "volunteered" to put myself into self-isolation and called the number of the relevant service to ask what else I should do. "Measure your temperature twice a day and isolate yourself from other people for 14 days. If you have a temperature of 38 and start coughing, go to the hospital", the lady told me kindly over the phone. Not a problem, I already knew these were basic measures, and was prepared for them. I have college commitments anyway, and I have the internet and a bunch of books on my list that I haven't had the time to get to (or I've just been lazy). What I didn't know was how much the state of emergency would affect our society and how hard it would be for me to watch it all unfold.

Quarantine made me not watch TV. On second thought, I haven’t watched it that much before, but you got the point. Disinformation and conspiracy theories have flooded not just the Internet, but traditional media as well. Of course, fake news is not a result of a global pandemic, but it pushed it over the edge.

Recently our country was affected by the virus Covid19. Our life was changed during the night.
There were fewer and fewer people on the streets both the capital and other cities, and there was no need to go out unnecessarily. Walking and spending free time in nature and cafes have been reduced and measures have been introduced. These measures provided for isolation and the wearing of masks and gloves to drastically change the situation.

We didn’t know that pandemic will change our everyday lives. We didn’t hope that it will last and it still lasts and confronts us with more obstacles and challenges in our life.
For me, the biggest and the first realization of pandemic was while I was intern in foreign country. It didn’t have covid19 cases until the last week of my internship. Then the first case emerged. The situation changed. The first thoughts were: “How do I cope with this?”.. “How did my family react?” “Will I be able to come back home?” “What comes next?” and the best part was that my country hadn’t got any cases of the virus infection at that point. When the time for leaving came everything was normal. Nobody cared about virus, everybody walked the streets as usually, because it was “just one case”.
