Skopje hosts the fourth Balkan Youth Forum


The Balkan Youth Forum titled “Creative innovations towards active youth participation in the Balkans” officially started on the 15th of May in Skopje.

Over 70 representatives of CSOs, local authorities and youth workers participate in the three-day forum, all of them coming from different Western Balkan countries.

The forum was opened by Lutfi Haziri, Member of the Governing Board of ALDA, H.E. Christian Thimonier, Ambassador of France in Macedonia, Sasa Bogdanovic, Mayor of Municipality of Centar, Eliska Gertnerova from the EU Delegation and Antoaneta Ivanova, representative from the Western Balkans Fund.

Two days of activities will follow during the forum, including workshops and a visit to the Parliament of Macedonia.

This year, the project is supported by the Western Balkans Fund and the forum is the first activity that’s being realized supported by this forum created to promote and support projects that foster regional cooperation.

Making the European Agenda more youth friendly in the Western Balkans

The first thematic regional forum in the framework of the project “Regional Youth Compact for Europe” was held on the 26th February 2019 in Tirana. The event was attended by more than 70 people, representatives of civil society, youth stakeholders and young people from the Western Balkans and gave opportunity to exchange on new ways to cooperate among various stakeholders in the region and stimulate collaborative activities for EU integration on a regional level.
