On July 7th, the Local Youth Advisory Group from Mostar held the second meeting this year.
At the meeting, it was discussed about the details of the panel discussion which is planned to be held in September between the young representatives of the political parties and young people of Mostar.
It was agreed to organize the panel discussion on September 18th, before the general elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The young people of the City of Mostar will be invited through the public call which will be announced during the August, and the young representatives of the political parties will all be invited. The objective of this panel is to discuss all the relevant issues young people face within the local community and to get the answers from their political representatives. The final aim is to develop a dialogue and awareness on the importance of civic participation in the decisions making which affects them directly.
As a reminder, local elections within the City of Mostar haven’t been organized for a decade and the majority of the young people didn’t have a chance to vote or to be elected. The next steps will be the planning the promo campaign as well as the logistical planning.
During the meeting it was also confirmed that the Youth Taking Over Day will be institutionalized within the City of Mostar as an official activity on the annual basis, since the representatives of the City agreed to adopt it as such.
