The 2nd of July marked an important date for the youth of Peja. With the aim of reducing violence and extremism, Local Democracy Agency of Peja in cooperation with Local Youth in Action Council - Peja implemented the conference "Prevention of Violence and Extremism through Participation.
The panel consisted of representatives from four different fields and main actors in the decision making area of Peja.
- Don Mikel Sopi representative of the Catholic Church and people.
- Imam Hoxhë Enes Goga representative of the Islamic Council Peja.
- Jeta Nushi representative of the Peja Youth Sector
- Brikena M. Avdyli representative of the NGO Sector with extensive experience in the topic.
Encouraging and thoughtful points were discussed by the panel, where the participants of the conference had the chance to hear some clear definitions about Violence and Extremism and the forms it takes.
In today's world, misconceptions arise all the time throughout the whole world. The main point of the conference was to raise awareness in the audience about how to best prevent violence and extremism and create a network of cooperation that best minimizes the negative effects of isolation and lack of knowledge.
