YOUTH IN THE BALKANS: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo*, Serbia, FYR Macedonia COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS AND PRACTICE (2018)

The purpose of this study is to provide analysis on the key challenges that young people face, together with related policy and legal responses in the Western Balkans, which were addressed within the research component of the multi-annual project Balkan regional platform for youth participation and dialogue, implemented from 2015-2018 by the European Association for Local Democracy (ALDA), the Local Democracy Agencies: Central and Southern Serbia, Subotica, Kosovo*, Montenegro, Mostar, Prijedor, Zavidovici in Bosnia and Herzegovina and ALDA Skopje.

Balkan Network for Local Democracy – history was made in Skopje

The Balkan Network for local democracy (BNLD) took its first official step for registration of the Network. On the 12th of June 2019, ALDA, the LDAs from the Western Balkan region, and ALDA Skopje held the Constitutive General Assembly of BNLD in Skopje, North Macedonia and made history.

On 17th April, a meeting was held in Subotica organised by the Ministry of European Integration, with the representatives of local government, CSOs and Regional development agency. POLITEIA successfully trained the new generation of youth leaders

POLITEIA Western Balkan School for Youth Participation was held in Danilovgrad, Montenegro from 1st to 6th of April 2019.  The 2019 edition of the Politeia School continued the tradition of training and building the capacities of youngsters to be the new generation of youth leaders .

Official opening of the Politeia regional school: Engaging youth in Western Balkans

POLITEIA regional school for youth has officially open its doors for the new generation of young leaders. Natasa Vuckovic, president of the Center for Democracy foundation, Stanka Parac from BNLD, Kerim Medjedovic form LDA Niksic, Marko Mrdak, Deputy Chief Negotiator of Montenegro and Ilija Grgutovic, deputy mayor of Danilovgrad opened the 2019 edition of the school on the 1st of April in Danilovgrad, Montenegro.

VOLS: Promoting voluntarism in EU and Western Balkans

The international training ‘’Volunteer Management in Europe’s Youth sector’’ is the main activity of the project VOLS EU - Volunteer Management in Europe’s Youth sector. The training taking place in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina from March 27th – April 3rd and is organised by the Local Democracy Agency Mostar, which is the project’s lead partner.  Young representatives from 12 partner organizations from EU and Western Balkans are participating in the workshops and lectures.
